Historic Places Day

Saturday, July 7, 2018 - 10:00am to 5:00pm

Historic places tell us the stories that brought Canada to life, teach us about our heritage in a way history class can’t, and can give us a sense of collective identity.

On July 7, thousands of Canadians will join the national celebration during the second annual Canada Historic Places Day by visiting historic places around the country and discovering cultural, Indigenous, and social history.

Located in the Heritage Conservation of District of Maitland (East Hants), Nova Scotia High Tides Arts & Community Centre is in the former United Church and Hall buildings that were constructed in 1858.  The CHArt Society – Culture, Heritage and Art became the owners of the buildings in November of 2016 and are dedicated to restoring and maintaining these buildings as a Community Hall and Theatre in the village.
